The Short Story of it All:

Hi, I'm Erika Willitzer. Currently, I work as Defiance County, Ohio's Economic Development's Executive Director. I love my job and the capacity it allows me to help businesses with their needs. I love Defiance County, Ohio. It's rich with history and the people have been unwavering in their revitalization efforts. 

 

I started my career in broadcast journalism, but after a decade of working in the industry, I realized, I wanted MORE! I wanted more not only for myself, but for the people I was doing my job for. I was in a position where I reported on negative news repeatedly. I ended up taking a leap of faith - taking a job as a chamber of commerce director which led to a great position in the utility industry. NOW years later I'm working with businesses locally and globally...helping them in many different ways from expanding to developing their PR strategies.

I created this company...Small Town WOW, because I want to empower any small-town leader/any business owner, no matter where they are based, that they can become an influencer in a rural area and have global reach! Sometimes they just need a little help and that's where I come in.

I know how busy everyone is these days, especially small business owners and those running communities, and that is exactly why I developed this site. No need to go off to long training sessions, where you are gone for weeks No., I've been there and done that! It is exhausting!
